Application Support Engineer


Responsible to: Application Support Manager
Location: Bristol, United Kingdom
Contract Type: Permanent, full time.

Main Responsibilities
• Perform morning daily checks on ‘live’ customer systems.
• Providing 1st & 2nd line support internally and to customers.
• Assist customers in solving issues; this will include technical and how-to queries across the platform, software and user interface.
• Manage customer ‘incident’ and ‘service requests’ through an internal ticketing system.
• Monitor customer environments and systems using a number of monitoring methods.
• Work closely with the DevOps & Consultant teams on issues, providing information and updates as requested.
• Liaise with 3rd party vendors to log issues and faults if required.
• Carry out upgrades, maintenance and fixes to a range of different systems and software.
• Use development and pre-production environments to test and fault find issues and then manage any fixes into customer live environments.
• Perform ‘out of hours’ changes.
• Log file analysis and fault investigation.
• Assist on delivering projects and meeting ‘Go live’ deadlines.

• The role is responsible for internal system maintenance as well as customer systems.

• Experience working with Genesys Software (desirable)
• Experience working with Contact Centre solutions (desirable)

The successful candidate will need to be flexible and will be part of an on-call rota which will be 1 in 6 weeks, this will include working 1 weekend in 6. The team work a shift rota which will be discussed at interview.

Test Analyst


Responsible to: Test Manager
Location: Bristol, United Kingdom
Contract Type: Permanent, full time.

Main Responsibilities
• Taking ownership for system test activities in both an agile and waterfall-based environment based on the specific client in all phases in the SDLC.
• Analysis and creation of test deliverables including test plans, test cases/scripts, test execution reports and defect reporting.
• Creation of an issues log and the maintenance of all issues related to the log from initiation to resolution per project.
• 
Defect management and reporting using Excel/JIRA – reporting on the types of defects both internally and externally where necessary, clearly communicating the cause and the severity of the defect, whilst understanding and documenting the root cause analysis.
• D
etailed manual test scripting for functional and non-functional requirements.
Ability to highlight and drive issues forward from identification through to resolution.
Create test reports to project stakeholders both internal and external to the company.
• S
upport customers in UAT phase.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders both internal and external to the company in resolution of issues or defects.
 

Key Skills:
• Strong interpersonal skills in supporting clients through their own testing processes, both remotely and on-site where necessary..
• Strong communication and workload management skills.
• Must be able to work independently and proactively with self-drive.
• Requires a varied array of testing experience within the following types of environment;
• Web services/Process Flows
• Web/Mobile/Standalone Applications
• Technical application of QA using Business Processes
• Web Applications
• Thick Client Applications
• SQL Server Management Studio
• Strong analytical and business mind, with the ability to understand the quality assurance process from both a business and technical perspective
• Agile & Scrum experience
• ISEB/ISTQB System Testing Foundation Certification at minimum
• Basic understanding of computer networking
